obama and chu
Steven Chu agrees with President Obamas sustainability plans for the future. They want to increase energy efficiency of our appliances and buildings. Have more efficient cars and trucks and a push to develop plug in hybrids. A continued commitment to nuclear power and a longterm plan for waste disposal. Increased commitment to research and development of new alternative energy technologies. Some specific examples that companys are offering for people going green are that companies like best buy will offer free delivery and new financing incentives on Energy Star appliances (clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators) and home depot will begin a national roll-out of a new Energy Star Windows Program, with advertising displays and labels that help consumers choose among energy efficient windows. There are many companies that are picking up on this advertising to promote the use of energy eficient appliences. and for hybrid's companies are giving free gas away as a promotion for hybrids

Concept Map and Questions
A. One tread from our concept map is that all the non-renewable resource give off harmful gasses that is wreaking the atmosphere. Another tread that is on are map is that the population is growing so the demand of the items we have are running out faster every day.
B. One time delay is that we don't know what science will grow to build in the technogy factor, so we don't know how long it will to change from non-renewable to renewable resources. Also we cant tell how much time we have for our non-renewable tell they run out because the population is growing fast every day.
C. One feedback loop is that we have so many good ideas that the mind can inflewince other people to have ideas to change the way we live. Also other people can give ideas on new ways to heat our homes that is cheaper so we dont have to raise home prices though the roof.
D. One point of leverage is that with more people in the world the more brains will be focusing on the energy problems that we are coming to. With more mind the new ideas will follow. Next, lifestyle changes will can be put into effect as soon as posible saving energy. Like the power we have to use just to heat our homes.
7. Present the solution
Keep reseaching for ways to use renewable resouces and how to spead the technolony around the U.S. but for now keep using fossil fuels as our main resource but start making changes to homes around the globe.
6. Analyze the solutions
If we are trying to find a solution first we will have to find out what the problem is. First we will need to spend time and money reseaching for new ways to transfer rewnewable energy to houses that are not enviormentally friendly. We have the material to build enough windmill to power the USA but we have no one to move the energy to everyones home. That is our problem no mode to transport the energy.

Information needed to understand the problem.
3.Information needed to understand the problem.
What we need to understand the problem at hand is look at past energy sources we have used and get an estimite of how much longer those sources will last for us. By doing this it will give us a time frame of how long we have to come up with a solution to find an alternite usable energy source that is equily or more efficient than the previous one.

2. Creating an exact statement of the problem?
the problem for the us is that we are mainly dependant on non-renewable resources but, we will eventually run out and we need to start cutting down on them but we cant becuase our techonolgy isn't great enough yet to stop using fossil fuel and stuff like that because we wouldnt have enough energy.

Susainable Energy
1.Determine whether a problem exists
There is a problem with the US energy constumtion. We have been depending on to much of energy that is nonrewable. So in 2007 our energy consumption for nonrewable resources was 94.3%. With the ice caps melting and our earth heating up time is running out of the earths life. We must change our ways by providing a healther place for trees, animals and people to live and reproduce.

Solutions
5. Generate possible solutions
One way we can make the switch to using renewable resources is by first cutting back on the amount we use. In 2008 US corporates bought more than 2.8 MWh of Green-e certified renewable energy last year. Last year we used 2.7 MWh Green-e and in 2006 we only used 114,000 MWh. By using more renewables we are being the change in the world. In the next 10 years we can save oil for the future. Also we can give money to reseach so new technolgy and also using 10% renewable resource by 2012 and 25% by 2025. These is the plan Obama has set up tell 2025 so we will not run out in the next 15 years.
This picture shows that we are caring more about money oil and cars then keeping our world clean safe and liveable for use.
